Football Highlights 1970 –  Arkansas State won the College Division National Championship in Football.   (Equivalent to Division II today)

1975 –  The Indians moved to D-1 and went 11-0 finishing tied for 21st in the final poll. Click here for and article from The Herald.

1986 –  A-State finished runner up in D-1AA by losing in the Diamond Bowl (D-1AA is now called FCS)

2005 – Finished regular season with a winning record (6-5) for the first time since returning to FBS and earned a New Orleans bowl bid.   Finished 6-6.

2006 – Bluff City Miracle occurred in Memphis with a last second Hail Mary win!

2008 – Arkansas State finally gets over the hump with a season opening win over Texas A&M – the first over a BCS AQ school.

2011 – Won Sun Belt with an 8-0 conference record to finish the regular season 10-2 before falling in the Go Daddy Bowl to finish 10-3.   Ranked 28th AP at one point.
